Optimization of ionizing radiation dose is the most critical and fundamental issue in balancing diagnostic imaging with patient safety. Optimization in radiography can be achieved by optimizing the technical factors such as dose, exposure indicator, deviation index, preprocessing, postprocessing, diagnostic reference levels.
